Lincoln Library – The Public Library of Springfield, Illinois is seeking an individual to plan and direct the operation of Access Services, which includes Circulation, Periodicals, and Extension Services. Coordinate present activities while planning and recommending appropriate new services. Assume system-wide responsibility for establishing standards for circulation services. Supervise daily circulation activities at both the Circulation desk, Periodicals desk, and at outreach events/locations. Supervise maintenance of circulation database, and of the periodicals collection. Interpret library policies and procedures and respond to customer concerns. Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate staff in all aspects of circulation, periodical and computer registration functions. This position requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent in experience) and two years of professional library experience, with one year of supervisory experience. Experience with all aspects of integrated library systems (ILS) is also required. A valid Class D driver’s license and a personal automobile are also required. Current employees (where applicable) and persons hired or rehired after 1-1-17 shall maintain their bona fide residence within the corporate limits of the city during all periods of service. Newly hired or rehired employees have 12 months from date of hire to establish city residency. MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: $4,010.37 MONTHLY Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
