Job Description
Employment Detail: Full-Time, Permanent, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor
Duties: Provide in-person or remote reference service including some nights, weekends and holidays; Identify, develop and deliver electronic library resources and services that create an inviting, user-centered online environment; Develop, conduct and assess library instruction sessions; Serve as liaison and outreach librarian to science departments and develop those collections; Share in circulation duties; Engage in the practice of Librarianship, research and service as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Info & Requirements
Required Qualifications:
• ALA accredited MLS or MLIS degree
• Library work experience
• Training or teaching experience
• Proficient in using and applying computer technologies (e.g. wikis, RSS feeds, social networking)
• Strong written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications :
• Science related bachelors degree
• Knowledge of course management systems (e.g. BlackBoard©)
• Knowledge of applying information literacy standards to library services
• Knowledge of U.S. Patent & Trademark Office program
• Experience using Voyager system
• Excellent oral communication skills
