Job Description
Plan, organize, and direct activities in the Circulation Services section of the Library. Respond to and resolve customer issues that may include disputed fines, overdue, lost, or damaged items, problems with loan requests, and/or Library policy interpretation. Provide technical support to staff in use of the Circulation and Reports modules of Sirsi Dynix software. Work collaboratively with collection agency in the recovery of fees and/or overdue materials. Assist in the maintenance of computer hardware and peripheral equipment in the Circulation Services section, including routine maintenance and troubleshooting of the Sirsi Dynix computer system. Oversee the library’s materials security system. Coordinate, supervise and train Library volunteers and community service workers and manage the volunteer and community service programs. Exercise direct supervision over assigned staff including evaluating performance, enhancing employee development and skill building, training, and recommending employee actions as required. Schedule and ensure proper staff coverage of Circulation desk for all shifts including evenings and weekends.
Additional Info & Requirements
Three years of experience in a public library, which must include direct customer service experience and experience with an automated circulation system. General supervisory experience is desirable or demonstrated skills/training in supervision.
