Major responsibilities include: copy cataloging, catalog maintenance, archival processing, inventorying incoming collections, digitizing materials, creating metadata for digital assets, working with a digital repository, and providing support for acquisitions.
You will be evaluated on the following knowledge and skills: Knowledge of the Library of Congress classification system, MARC records, OCLC Connexion, cataloging standards, and copy cataloging procedures; knowledge of an integrated library system and the cataloging functions and working with archival, historical and other materials; knowledge of library routines as they relate to copy cataloging scanning, creation of metadata, and acquisition of material; knowledge of government procurement regulations; and demonstrated ability with automated systems and computers, especially spreadsheets, word processing, and database use.
