The Community
Our philosophy has remained unchanged since the beginning, when Benjamin Henry Blackwell opened a 12’ x 12’ used bookshop in Oxford, England. His goal was to provide the very best books and services to the academic community. And four generations later, that same goal is the foundation of everything we do. Download a PDF version of our History Flyer or our special commemorative 125th anniversary book—An aficionado’s guide to books and those who love them.
Now Blackwell serves libraries all over the world, with headquarters in the U.K., U.S. and Australia. And we’ve come a long way from an inventory of 700 used books. We ship approximately 3,000,000 books a year, along with providing state-of-the-art products and services ranging from ebooks and catalogue records to digital reference works and new title information.
